Kurozuka - new Death Note-like anime?
Oct. 15th, 2008 09:42 pmI was going through new anime series that started this autumn and in addition to great one-bishie-show Kuroshitsuji and comedic Toradora I found Kurozuka, an anime that promised to be balm-for-my-ears (aka seiyuu-are-love: Miyano Mamoru, Inoue Kazuhiko, Miki Shinichiro, Fujiwara Keiji,...). What surprised me was how much it looked like Death Note. Not due to theme or story (frankly, after watching just one episode I have no idea what the plot will be like) but there were lots of visual references to Death Note.
Just watch the opening, it resembles the second DN opening pretty much. The opening theme is Systematic People by Wagdug featuring Maximum the Hormone, group that made the 2nd OP and ED for DN.
While watching the show I thought several times "this scene looks like DN, this too, this too..." The main character is voiced by Miyano Mamoru (=Yagami Light). Both series are produced by Madhouse. Isn't it too much?
Oh, don't watch it if you don't like blood or violence ^_^
