rxl_fans saying something about a strike on LJ. I said only WTF? How is it related to fans of Raito/L pairing? But I started to read posts on her LJ and browse some other related links to find more information. Brief overview can be found here, more explaining post about censoring of popular interest report here. I am not here for a long time so I don't remember previous LJ problems with censoring, but I am against any censorship of people's interest. Labeling posts as with adult content feature - this is what I can see as understandable. Maintainers of communities with 18+ content who require birth date in the profile - that's also OK. But omitting some interests in the table of the most popular interests - that's just weird. And discrimination. I hope it's true what they say about some sort of technical problems. At least, the interests are back and they were fixed up without complains. Maybe if it was deliberate and not a technical issue, they would make up some (bizarre) explanation and want to continue without these interests in the report. Who knows.
I am not a supporter of the strike; interests are back and removing of basic accounts is a business decision. I'm a plus account user and can see ads on the sites and I manage to live. But maybe I will be a part of the strike involuntarily - my internet acces is poor this week, to much things to do in real life XD
