It's been a long time since I translated anything. And it's been even longer time since I translated something from Harry Potter fandom. In fact, it was a year last week. Wow. I wouldn't have guessed my crisis would last so long. Maybe it's symbolic, this week everything worked out. Even if not the best way it could, but it's finally done and there is no need to worry about ifs and might-have-beens.

To celebrate this memorable event, I decided to start translating again. I don't know if I am capable enough and I don't know if I wouldn't jack it in (I hope not! I've already asked for permission to translate The Story so it would be a shame if I didn't finish it off. Please pretend you don't know I started translating Five Loves and never completed it, ok?). I won't tell you which story I picked because you would read it in English and I'd have less readers later ^^ Let's call it "The Story". I think I will post information about progress of my translation here - maybe if you scolded me that I was slow and lazy bitch, I'd finish it sooner ^^

Anyway, besides watching caramell dansen videos on youtube (omg it has even Mononoke version!), I began reading Harry Potter fanfiction again. It's best way how to find something good to translate, you know ^^ So I bring you some recs. I can tell you The Story is sort of Harry/Draco (it's a shame that Drarry is one of my OTPs and I've never translated a fanfic with this pairing) so the recs' pairings are pretty much obvious.

At first, I'd like to recommend two fics written by Maya. Dark Side of Light is a very dark and disturbing story set in post-war world. But forget about Rowling's picnics in the woods and friendly bickering in Forbidden Forest. This story is completely different. If you're susceptible to depression, don't read it. It's all written as dialogue-only and thanks to this it's even more chilling than it would be if it were described in complex sentences. The story takes place in Azkaban where Draco is imprisoned and Harry comes to see him.
The other Maya's story is Coda to an Epilogue: Twenty Years Later, Or The Kids Are All Right. As the title says, it's DH-compliant and definitely not a dark story. In fact, you'll be laughing hard when reading some parts, I promise. Harry goes to Durmstrang to save his kids who are lost in school sewers. If you don't love Scorpius and Al after reading this, you will never love them.

Well, umm, I know I've already recced Four Moments of Mourning, but I can't help myself. It's so good you just have to read it.

In the end, something that is not Drarry. It wouldn't be me if I didn't rec a Snupin fic, would it? Busaikko's Here, where the world is quiet is, sadly, another sad story in today's batch. But it's not chilling like Dark Side is, it's just full of sadness at the end. And in the middle. Well, it's all sad but in a good way. I don't want to spoil you anything so I'll just say it's another post-war story.
