KKM OVA 3 - I've seen it, yeah!
Jan. 14th, 2008 10:16 pmThere are some thoughts that crossed my mind during watching the OVA. OK, mostly they are not thoughts but only fangirl's squee ^^
- I still can't get used to the new opening song, Hateshinaku was much better. Another thing about opening: is there really a big blue snake sneaking from Anissina's laboratory? Is he just a backdrop or will he be a part of the main plot? Who knows...
- There was no bad-omen-bird! I'm disappointed.
- And there was no I-am-Maou-the-god-of-justice thing (I should read less death note fanfiction, I wanted to type Kira instead of Maou ^^). I can't say I miss him though, two appearances in three OVAs is more than enough.
EDIT shit, he wasn't in OVA #1. Ehm, one appearance in three OVAs is still enough for me. - I can't decide if Günter looks sexier with glasses or with book in his hands ^^
- Since when is Greta sleeping with Yuuri and Wolfram in one bed? It's cute, that's for sure, but I can't remember her doing it in the anime. But maybe it's because I have a mind like a sieve ._. Perhaps, it's since this event? ^^
- Murata is the best. And in this OVA, his rejoinders are made of win ^^
"Eh? That old thing is still around? That brings back memories." Murata, you naughty boy, I wonder what exactly you were doing with "that old thing" and with whom ^^ But it's not hard to guess, is it?
"Ah, that's not true! There aren't many wonderful girls on Earth who are like you." Muraken, you flirt! ^^ On the top of that, he is flirting between Günter's legs ^^ (I don't have a picture, you have to find it yourselves).
"Are you talking to yourself out here, Ulrike? It's almost as if he was here. I guess that's impossible, right? After making such a big deal as he left, there's no way he could sneak back in, right? Well, even if he came back, I'm done looking after him. And I'm incredibly interested in Shibuya right now. Unlike someone else, I may push them, but it won't be out of selfishness." Murata, I love you ♥ That's the best part of the OVA, it reveals so much about Murata/Daikenja, Shinou and their relationship. And try to imagine he said "I'm incredibly interested in Shibuya right now." without that context *fangirl dies happy*
"Lord von Bielefeld is an incurable, tsundere, selfish brat." You are lucky Wolfram couldn't hear you ^^ BTW is this an oversight in translation? Tsundere is Japanese word meaning (1) being on the surface sharp and sarcastic (tsuntsun) but underneath lovestruck and fawning (deredere); characteristic of a gap between acted out actions and feelings in mind; (2) normally being sharp but at some prompt suddenly becoming lovestruck; hot-cold personality type. - I wonder why Shinou metamorphosed into Shin-Ou. So I tried to find shin and ou in an online Japanese dictionary. It seems ou is not a word, but shin can mean thin or Chinese "Three Stars" constellation (one of the 28 mansions). And shinou is ascus; seed pod. I had to look ascus up in the wiki, because Czech translation was askus and I had no idea what it could be. Wiki sais: An ascus (plural asci) is the sexual spore-bearing cell produced in ascomycete fungi. On average, asci normally contain 8 ascospores, produced by a meiotic cell division followed, in most species, by a mitotic cell division. Interesting. Poor Shinou-heika ^^
- Gegenhuber and his family are kawaii ^^ Their kiss is so sweet and embarrassed Hube is love ♥ And Gwendal, annoyed by the whole "love thing", is the pièce de résistance ^^ But why the hell Hube and Nicola scored only 45 points? Is it because of the missing mirror? If it was me who should decide their score, it would be 100, that's for sure. One of my favourite parts of OVA #2 is the scene where Hube shields his family from Adalbert - Adalbert has a reason to hate Hube, after all. I was pleasantly surprised by his calm behaviour.
- It's weird that during testing the machine, Celi-sama is sitting on a throne while Yuuri (the present king) is standing in a crowd on a balcony...
- And the Wolfram/Yuuri thing ^^ Finally! What to say more? ^^ Anissina looked quite pleased, by the way. But I am confused about what exactly Yuuri saw. Wolfram's vision is easy to guess, it was a variation on the dream at the beginning of the OVA. But Yuuri's vision? In ShinsenSubs' translation, Yuuri sais "I saw that you actually liked me...". But in this article
_miyuchan_ sais that the translation is "eeeh? No, it's wrong, what I saw was you, a man..." and explains further "Yuuri says he doesn't want for that future to happen...a future where Wolfram is with a man?? (I thought he could have seen a future where Wolfram and him were a couple but he didn't continue the sentence he only said "otoko" but if it was him and Wolfram he would have formed a different sentence in japanese...)so he basically saw Wolfram with another man..." So I'm confused a bit. But later in the OVA, Murata explains: "The future that one sees is the future one fears the most. That's why it is not uncommon for it to be partner's happiest future." So it seems that Yuuri really saw Wolfram and himself as a couple, not Wolfram being with another man... Pity.
Hell, I read the comments below the article and now I hesitate a lot. Murata could talk about Wolfram's vison... Does anyone know what "jitsu wa omae wa otoko..." means? ShinsenSubs were translating pretty loosely since they omitted the word otoko (=man) completely. The translation "what I saw was you, a man..." seems to be more accurate even if
_miyuchan_ was wrong and it meant that Yuuri's worst future was being with Wofram because he is male. - OK, we have Wolfram/Yuuri, Shinou/Murata, hints of Murata/Yuuri, but I forgot to mention Conrad/Wolfram ^^ My ConYuu feelings have been hurt since I saw how Conrad was taking care of Wolfram after the kissing scene (he also called his name) while others were fussing over Yuuri.
- The moment when Günter realized Wolfram had to kiss Yuuri to activate the machine was sidesplitting ^^
- Shinou-heika, I wouldn't imagine you are like Weasley twins ^^ I love Ulrike's words: I am beginning to see the trouble that Your Eminence has gone through for the last four thousand years." I think I need some Shinou-centric fanfiction to read ^^ And I can't stop thinking about this ^^.

Myslela jsem si, že se ti Murata bude v 3ce líbit^^. Já si užila zvlášť pasáž "Unlike SOMEONE ELSE, I may push them, but it won't be out of selfishness", ale hlavní je, že Muratu nezbavili pozice (skoro)vševědoucí šedé eminence - a navíc ho nechali definitivně zkorumpovat i Ulriku.
Polibek. A čtvrtou. A pátou...^^

Date: 2008-03-19 09:25 am (UTC)Here is the quote from the translator:
"No no this is my fault. I've looked around and it was something i should have noticed would be misconstrued earlier. The line that you're talking about drops off so in english i dropped the last syllable off. really the full line would have been actually liked men... but because i dropped the n to match the fact that Yu-chan didn't finish his sentence it became "actually liked me..." In restrospect i should have said actually like gu... but i didn't so sorry for any confusion caused!"
You can find it here: http://forum.shinsen-subs.org/index.php?a=topic&t=4188&f=3&min=30&num=15
Hope this relieves your Wolf/Yuuri worries. Yuuri saw his worse future, that Wolfram is surrounded by men. It is parallel to Wolf's where Yuuri is surrounded by women. :)
